SARAJEVO-MARKALE MEMORIAL
During the siege of Sarajevo by Serbian troops, snipers and mortars sowed terror in the city, leading to the death of thousands of civilians. Among these criminal attacks, we wanted to recall and honour the victims of the two bomb attacks suffered by the Markale market in Sarajevo, on 5 February 1994, with 69 killed and 206 injured, and on 28 August 1995, with 37 killed and 85 injured.
SREBRENICA GENOCIDE MEMORIAL
During the War in the Balkans, on 11 July 1995 and the following days, the Srebrenica massacre or genocide took place: at a lorry battery factory in Potocari and the surrounding area near Srebrenica, between 9,000 and 11,000 men and boys between the ages of 11 and 70 were murdered by the forces of the criminal Ratko Mladic, while the cowardly Dutch UN troops stood by.
This execrable act has been condemned as genocide by the International Criminal Court, and every 11 July tens of thousands of people gather in the memorial cemetery in Potocari, to bury the remains of the many victims who are still being found and identified each year.
