Bernhard Willem Holtrop, alias Willem, is a Dutch satirical cartoonist. In 1968 he moved to France and currently lives on an island in Brittany. He has contributed to the French newspaper Libération since 1981 and to Charlie Hebdo magazine, as well as to many other publications, especially comics, including Siné Hebdo, L’Enragé, Hara-Kiri, Images, Phosphore, Bijster, Hitweek, Arton, Cocktail, Provo, Métal Hurlant, Je Bouquine, Rock Hardi, Fluide Glacial, Bizarre Sex, J’accuse, La Grosse Bertha, Zéro, Rip Off Comix, Anathème, Viper, Stripburger, Vrij Nederland, Opus Internacional and L’Echo des Savanes.
In 2013 he was awarded the Grand Prix at the Angoulême International Comics Festival and in 2015 he received the prestigious International Gat Perich Humour Award.
