Gervasio Sánchez (born Córdoba, August 29, 1959) is a Spanish journalist and photographer known for covering most of the armed conflicts in Latin America, the Gulf War, the Bosnian War and other conflicts deriving from the fragmentation of the former Yugoslavia, and different conflicts in Africa and Asia.
He has worked for different media outlets, although normally as an independent journalist. Among the publications he has worked for, of particular note are the Heraldo de Aragón (from 1988) and La Vanguardia Magazine (since 2000). He has also worked in other media: the Cadena SER, the BBC (since 1994) and Tiempo magazine (since 2000), and is a regular contributor to the Cover Agency.
Since 1998, he has been a UNESCO Special Envoy for Peace.
