DRAWING LIBERPRESS 2019

ROSER OLIVERAS I OLIVER

Roser Oliveras i Oliver (Girona, 1952) received the first National Drawing Award in 1966 (Alacant). She studied engraving at the Olot Art School and at the Barcelona Fine Arts School. Her work has been on display in Girona, Barcelona, Madrid, San Sebastián, Andorra, Lausanne, Cannes, Brussels and other places. In the late 1980s she was a part of the Group Public Project. She is a figurative and expressionist artist, who uses different techniques and whose characters show great, sometimes burlesque, humanity. She varies from painting with posters, graphic works, engravings, scenography, design, sculpture, ceramics, etc. She is a unique, independent, rebellious and socially committed artist, who has often suffered from the censorship of hypocritical groups and conservatives.
