France Libertés is an association that pays special attention to those who devise and put into practice new forms of solidarity, production, exchange and distribution of wealth in the world. France Libertés supports organizations and individuals who seek to promote civic responsibility, acting nationally or internationally, to construct a more humane world which is caring and at peace.
This year France Libertés launched a worldwide campaign for people’s access to water with the slogan “The right to clean and free water”. Danielle Mitterrand, widow of the former President of the French Republic, is the leading advocate of the project and president of the association.
The Vice-President of the Diputació de Girona, Enric Vilert i Butchosa, presented the LiberPress France 2006 Award on 11 December at the Maison de l’Amérique Latine in Paris.
