Xavier Roqueta was born in Girona in 1961. He studied industrial design at the Massana School in Barcelona, he took a post-graduate course at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and has studied history. He has devoted himself to design and creative work for almost thirty years (areas in which he has received various distinctions) and has always been interested in painting and illustration. He has worked for agencies, companies and institutions in Girona, in Barcelona and abroad. He currently combines his work as head of corporate design and image for the Diputació de Girona with painting and illustration.
The LiberPress 2012 Awards poster, inspired by the Arab Spring and by the globalisation of information through new communication technologies, is a cry against injustice and in favour of the defence of individual and collective freedoms.
