Georges Wolinski

Born in Tunisia in 1934, he was a French graphic humourist. Initially he contributed to the magazine Hara-Kiri. Subsequently, he worked with L’Humanité, Le Nouvel Observateur, Paris-Presse and Paris Match. He was part of the weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo, where he gained a wealth of professional experience.

 

He has produced more than 80 albums of comic strips and satirical drawings and his cartoons were in the international spotlight in 2006, because of the controversy surrounding the parody of the prophet Muhammad.

 

He was one of the most disrespectful and anti-systemic humourists.
